I've worn frags with musk in them without realizing what Musk as an isolated ingredient is like, or how powerful a note it really is! On my first wearing, I was expecting a strong animal/barnyard funk, but I got a pretty light ck one feel?! Upon further investigation and consultation, I found that: 1. Musk is in the basenotes of ck one (what BPC's Musk reminds me of)), 2. On Twisted Lily's website, (where I purchased mine), someone had commented that it smells "funky," like "dirty bathroom," etc. Then I looked up the word in the dictionary: "a substance produced by a gland in the male musk deer and used as an ingredient in perfumes." Company's (Brooklyn Perfume Company) website states that people are repelled, yet can't seem to tear themselves away from a second sniff, etc. I guess I would say all this is true, and it keeps me repeatedly sniffing my forearms. I'm not sure that other people are noticing or not, but it's addictive! I would sum it up by saying what it is, is a urine-like smell, that is oddly NOT a urine note! Lighter, yet stronger...I'm not sure of the right description, but addictive nonetheless! The perfumer, James Peterson, says that most perfumers have lost touch with fragrances that contained it in the 60's, and that most "musks" aren't musks at all! Anyway, a great intro. to BPC and to Twisted Lily! I have since purchased BPC's "Oud" as well! Excellent stuff, guys!
