BOURBON FRENCH – NARCISSE

The number of species of Narcissus vary, but have been counted to be anywhere between 6 and 160. They are also known as daffodils and jonquils. Very few have fragrance, but one species, known commonly as the “Paper White,” is exceedingly fragrant. The flower is small, with six white petals and a yellow center. Some say the scent is reminiscent of jasmine, the flower of which it resembles.

Bourbon French's Narcisse is a combination of sweet and pungent. There is certainly the heady, strong floral sweetness of the flower, but there is also the sense here of smelling the stem and leaf with the underlying dry greenness, almost as if the perfumer had combined orris and galbanum. It makes the inhalation seem all the more natural and realistic.

This soliflore has great projection, similar to gardenia, jasmine, tuberose, and lily. A little dab goes a long way. Very true to the scent of the flower itself and another fine creation from Bourbon French.
