Latest Reviews of No. 4 Après l'Amour
This is so weird in a good way, I can’t stop smelling it. Here it is: Monolithic razor sharp musk and dry peppery wood over spice candy. Ohhhhhh. So powerful. Gunpowder flash. Huge lift and waft. Lasted a month on my coat sleeve. Hardly any change in aroma. Zero development. On my wrist a shower couldn’t kill it. What would I do with 100 ml? Please, a smaller bottle. 25 ml will do. No. 4 is my favorite. No. 10 smells similar but tamer, without that big, dry explosion that makes No. 4 remarkable. I have a troubling feeling of addiction to this that makes me feel nervous. Hit me again.
A moment we can all relate to, captured in a scent so perfectly...sort of.
Reminiscent of the Le Labo ~cult favorite~ AnOther 13, Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait, Escentric Molecule 02, and even the Japanese House J-Scent “Yawahada” yet uniquely, No. 4 stands on its own. An unbelievably strong and long lasting, high projecting, dry woody, salty-sweet ambroxan, which smells sterilized and crisp. No. 4 conjures thoughts of sun tanned heated skin, the swirling odor of humid tropical air (absent of coconut or lime), that sweet/sharp/fresh and distinctive ozonic aroma of electricity-charged air warning our senses of impending thunderstorms or an oncoming summer rain rolling moving inward, hyper synthetic musks and amber (think grey) with a faint but recognizably tart (dry) lemony accord. It’s all there. An unusually obscure but addictive scent & one that I hold in high regard. Head turning for the unsuspecting. Transparent-grayish-and beige on the color spectrum and only versatile when worn lightly... Use extreme caution when applying. Perfect for any occasion, especially a 72 hour rave, when you need a scent to stick despite profuse sweating and outdoor activities 😳. The trail seems endless and lingers long after you’ve been gone. A remarkably astounding 10/10* for a synthetic fiend like myself. Ambroxan fans take notice.

I don't think that it resembles Baccarat Rouge 540 BR540 as many claims it to be.
Both are packed with Ambroxan and have a similar structure, but I will stop there.
Après l'Amour is a lemon + ambroxan concoction that is more fresh + musky + ambroxany than sweet + woody + musky + ambroxany that is in BR540.
In fact, I think this is a blend between Byredo's Oud Immortel and Le Labo's Another 13.
Byredo's Oud Immortel because of the lemon / limoncello note that lingers throughout the entire life of Après l'Amour and
Another 13 because they have similar base notes.
BR540 is more woody + airy + sweet.
3 sprays is perfect for Après l'Amour and the longevity and projection is off the charts.
I smell this better than BR540 but like the scent of BR540 better.

Smells very good, be careful with the sprays. It clearly reminds me of BR540 and Instant Crush. So I will not get a full bottle since it would be redundant.
Edit: The drydown smells like burnt rubber on my skin. That's unfortunate because the opening was glorious.

Little strong, but it lasts for days and I love it
No doubt this is a combination of new ultra fresh ingredients reminiscent of iso e super, ambroxan, invisible wood musks . . . whatever. On first sniff the freshness has a chemical sharpness that cuts through everything on its way to a leveling cloud of superior freshness that projects cleanliness on and through the skin as well as the air surrounding - an effort at perfumery mindfulness. This is Thomas Kosmala's updated version of the kind of the invisible freshness found in eccentric molecules e01 and e02 combined and Apres l'Amour is clearly one of the best invisible skin musk scents I have tried. The ephemeral quality is sharpened by a slight edge of bitter orange + lemon zest to add a the sharpest contrast upon first sniff. It is the cleanest and freshest of its type of super molecular skin scents that while almost invisible, makes everything feel cleanly in the moment, while projecting this "Invisibility Cloak" of freshness. My new favorite for this category of contemporary musks.
