The opening is characterised by a light fruity accord with juniper berry, and with a fresh-ish undertone of the citrus/heliotrope kind. That sounds a bit vague and non-committal? Well, that is what the top notes mostly are like.

The drydown brings out the floral side, with iris being the most important component. A pleasant helichrysum and a light nigh-perfunctory patchouli are added in too.

The base starts to develop a bit in a more intense and richer fashion: a soft and warm “sandy” tone is at the core, which develops a touch of molasses and butternut notes with a pleasant creaminess at times, and is underlined by restrained white musks.

I get moderate sillage, good projection and an impressive thirteen hours of longevity on my skin.

This spring scent starts in a tediously generic and synthetic way, but the base is more colourful and less anaemic that the initial parts. Still, in spite of the excellent performance, it does not suffice for a thumbs up. 2.75/5.

Byredo Oliver Peoples has a strong reputation in the line, and it's quite agreeable so I can see why.

It has aspects that remind me of, on the lighter side, Bal d'Afrique, and on the heavier/odder side, Westbrook, while not really being the "same" as either of those fragrances.

The notes are different, though--in BDA and Westbrook, vetiver and violet factor in significantly, but Oliver Peoples, the main players are juniper, lemon, iris, and patchouli, still fostering the fresh/fruity/sharp amalgam, but the similar vibes seem difficult to ignore.

It's a good performer, better than most of the Byredo freshies but not as strong as the heavier hitters, and so it's roughly in the area, price-wise, as well ($175 for 50ml), of needing to love it in order to buy it, and I can't quite say I'm sold on it.

Per Luckyscent, it's being discontinued, so I'd encourage anyone who hasn't tried it yet to get a sample, as it's agreeable juice and works well for various seasons and genders and is just simply worth trying.

I find Oliver Peoples a very weak fragrance on my skin. More of a skin-scent EDT than an EDP in potency. Not bad for work, but I sprayed twice on each wrist and twice on my neck and an hour and 45 mins later I can barely catch anything. That being said, it's a pleasant enough scent. Fresh juniper is by far the clearest note, with a hint of sweetness that could be the iris. Following that I do detect what they call the "warm sand accord" but for me, this warm sand is more like buttery pasta. Not unpleasant but not particularly sophisticated either. It's such a modest fragrance that it's inoffensive to a fault.

This one is really amazing just wow. This is the best scent i have ever smelled so far,and my all time favorite right now.The opening is the best and you keep smelling it during the development but less....that juniper berry with lemon is so damn good and the patchouli is very well done too...can really smell this all day every day...do not get the sand note in the drydown but do get the musk.

I really enjoy this one! Burberry London comes to mind, but this doesn't have the spices and is longer lasting. I grew up in a house surrounded by juniper bushes, and this smells just like that, with a wonderful patchouli note to back it up and just enough citrus to brighten. There is certainly a sweetness here, but nothing like Angel. And yes, just like BL, this has a “holiday” vibe to it, which translates to cozy, comfortable and easy. Thumbs up!
