Another entry in the well-trod "suederal-rasberry" category, Oro 1920 distinguishes itself through its canny use of beeswax to buttress that leather accord, giving the fragrance a woody creaminess to compliment the leather. There are hints of tobacco and incense, but the leather and the beeswax are the stars here.

The ginger-and-rasberry opening suggests a vivaciousness that turns out to be short-lived, creating a spiced wine effect that dissipates as a more contemplative feeling takes over. The incense and beeswax create an almost churchy feeling, while some warmth comes from distant pipe tobacco.

Those who find the luxe ostentatiousness of the Tom Ford leathers may well find this a more pleasing option. It's more suitable for everyday wear and close encounters, with enough personality and distinction to keep it from being an also-ran in a crowded subgenre.

The long story of Oro 1920 fragrance is cool dry woods and deep suede leather. The early snippets at the party include ginger, osmanthus, raspberry, beeswax and tobacco that recalls a holiday pipe tobacco blend that is fun and merry. As time wears on the suede leather lasts through all these early spice, berries and tobacco tones and settles into a partnership with guaiac wood (+ suede) for a cool deep woods leather. A very nice lighter suede fragrance.

Although the opening has some uniqueness, the last 2/3 of this fragrance is similar to many other suede fragrances. The question must be asked, why would I buy Oro 1920, if I have - Tuscan Leather, La Yuqawam, Godolphin, Suede de Suede, Colonia Leather, BtV Mayfair, Suedois or Atelier Oud Saphir? Good question! Probably don't need it unless I am a leather fragrance obsessive.

So, after getting this for such a great deal-I think this is outstanding juice!!

Bois Oro is slightly reminiscent of Godolphin, however less explosive IMO.
Leather, woods, tobacco, even the hint of raspberry sitting in the foreground....Oro has a dark impression, yet rosy.

I have not smelled Tuscan Leather so I can't give any comparison there...I can say that this does put me in the genre of Oud Saphir-Atelier or Godolphin-Parfums de Marly because of the raspberry/tobacco leather combination.
Oro is its own fragrance just places you in the category of the aforementioned!

Overall, a fragrance that I find very nice and with more time, in substantial rotation!

Stardate 20171005:

Tuscan Leather started the seuderal trend. La Yuqawam, AdP, PdM followed suite. But Bois 1920 got it right with Oro.
The tenacity of seuderal was a PITA. 1920 tamed it and now it has a TL clone that is better than the original. And it has some development unlike others.
At the current prices, Oro is the one to get.

It is not my style but I recognize that it is a good, attractive scent.
Sweet, spicy, lots of rich and pretty florals. A leather-oriented scent. Agree that it is a unisex scent. I wish that it profiled the incense and fir balsam more.

A very realistic brand new leather accord, a noticeable crisp and fresh-cut mature evergreen, married perfectly with a faintly dry yet bright raspberry note, akin to what you’d notice in Tuscan Leather or Parfums de Marly Godolphin (except it’s nowhere near as cloying and sweet with more finesse.) Whereas Tuscan Leather and its counterparts: Godolphin, Golden Boy, Rasasi La Yuqawam Pour Homme, Blood Concept “O” are hyper sharp, this dries suede like and soft, even powdery, with an obvious high quality orris absolute that leaves a remarkable velvety yet dusty trail. The scent is impressive and just smells of high class.
