It is a magnificent rose. There is a rose in my father in law's garden that grows alone under his kumquat tree and it smells very similar - complex, delicate, balanced. A citrussy side, very light and fresh, reminiscent of the perfect balance of spices and verbena-lemon of the original Monsieur de Givenchy.

I wrote this before Prima Rosa had anything written on it, anywhere. Mr. Dubrana had suggested it when I asked him about rose. And that's it, really. That's the beauty of it. Just rose.

Except according to the notes, it isn't. To me, Prima Rosa succeeds where Nahema failed (at least according to my relatively novice note, perhaps blasé by the advances perfumery has made in recreating rose since) in creating and augmenting the perfect rose with multiple ingredients manipulated with mastery.

Longevity and projection are the worst of any of the line, so either spray extremely generously and take the spray with you during the day, or assume that it will be gone in half an hour. Still worth it.
