The idea of Stinkle is to guess the secret olfactory themed-word. It could be a fragrance, a perfume ingredient, a brand, or other smell-related term. You have six attempts at guesses. Your guesses don't have to be perfume-themed but they do have to be a valid English word

The game begins automatically when you load the webpage. You will see a grid representing your guesses, a keyboard for input, and the current word number and date displayed at the top.

Making a guess

Use the on-screen keyboard by clicking on the letters to form a word. You can also use your physical keyboard to type the letters.

Each word you attempt to guess must fit the number of letters in the word for today, as indicated by the empty boxes on the screen.

If you need to correct a letter, use the backspace key ⌫ on the on-screen keyboard or your physical keyboard to remove the last letter you entered.

Once you have filled in all the letters for your guess, press the enter key ⏎ on the on-screen keyboard or your physical keyboard to submit your guess.

Feedback on your guess

After submitting a guess, each letter in your guess will change color to indicate how close your guess was to the word.

Example

Let's say our guess is SAFFRON, and our feedback looks like this:

In this example, the S is in the correct place, The N is in the word, but not in the correct place, and all the other letters do not feature in the guessed word

Completing the game

You have a total of 6 attempts to guess the word correctly. Use the feedback from each guess to make your next guess more accurate.

If you guess the word within the 6 guesses then you win! If not, well, you can always try again tomorrow!
