Dressed up white floral (more tuberose than the declared gardenia to my nose), that goes for mystery via the dense and meaty route taken by such creations as Black Orchid. While clad in incense (hence the name, I suppose) and nicely blended spices, this is a fragrance that seems to arrive whole rather than as an interplay of notes. The florals are creamy and peach-tinged, with the iris adding extra smoothness. Oozes nocturnal and narcotic appeal, but pitched right persistent without being too heady and overwhelming. So far so good, but the retail price is a shocker.
