Zaftig! Very Cavallier; a near-herbal perversion of sweetness, deceptively comforting but with a subtle contrast that seduces. Cold lemon meringue served in a honeymoon suite at the California-kitsch Madonna Inn, incense ablaze to drown out the tendrils of spliff smoke wafting under the door from the mini-Turkish bath. Amber will be out when she's good and ready: perfect lipstick, lounge lingerie, "let's watch Barbara Stanwyck movies and mouth all the words!"

When not up for anything too demanding but not quite down for easy, Trouble is just right. A frequent default-to fragrance. Warm, sleepy, and though I'm normally a hater of citrus, this one is more tart than zingy. An ambered granddaughter of Shalimar in minimalist, stylized retro attire and cheaper (but more comfortable) shoes; that is to say, a minor inheritor of Emeraude.

Here comes TROUBLE! Yet more radical disagreement over a perfume from the house of Boucheron. I really love this one, with its eccentric lemon-cream opening, its clean jasmine and its benzoin-like barely sweet "amber" drydown. I find the entire trajectory of this creation both comforting and slyly seductive. Simple, yes, but luscious all the same.

I'm trying to understand what's not to like here, but maybe it's a case similar to black licorice: some people love it; others hate it. There's nothing more to it than a matter of taste. If you don't like smooth golden benzoin-like amber drydowns and creamy lemon openings and lush jasmine devoid of indoles, then all I can say is: tant pis pour vous!

Bleh! This scent has no femininity, no mystery, no sexiness, just overbearing odor. It's topnotes burn your nose and the drydown smells a kinda like perfumed packing material. Cardboard, or bubble wrap. Skip it.

Horrible. Agressive, green smelling oriental that, as it develops, creates the impression of strong aftershave attempting in vain to conceal BO. When will I learn not to snap up blind buys just because they're very cheap? More fool me.

Drydown is very creamy vanilla, amber and woodsy. Last really long and smells very sexual on women.
