Verdant
Boujee Bougies (2023)

Verdant is a "Another Green World," pulling out the sappy, milky, phloem-rich stems and the raw vegetation, soaking them in dew and hazy humidity. Fig leaves glazed with mastic resin combine with fresh cut aloe, all covered with moisture, dappled with drops. A clean and punctuated ozone forms the core in Verdant, it is the azure to counterpoint all that is green. It gives this effect of lifting, rising, upwards, like a magic beanstalk into the sky.

As it progresses, I pick up what I can only describe as a futuristic sandalwood coupled with a wet aggregate, unlike anything else I've smelled, not only in green fragrances, but in any fragrances really. It is also worth pointing out the perfumer Pia Long managed to avoid including galbanum here, and while I adore my galbanum, I am impressed that she did not rely on it as the pivot for Verdant and still managed to make it all magical.
