Latest Reviews of Versace pour Femme Dylan Purple
Dylan Purple has one of the best "pear" openings I've smelled.
Hyper-pear Jolly Rancher that dries down to a caramelized freesia floral musk.
Thankfully, this particular musk does not go "shampoo" on my skin, though I could easily see how it would on the wrong day.
What I found most interesting about Dylan Purple is the marketing collateral surrounding the manufacturer's sample.
Versace leaned into the "exclusivity" of their aromachemicals in their marketing - Pomarose, Mahonial, Sylkolide - along with the usual Ambroxan and Iso-E-Super suspects.
Considering how IFRA regulations seem to be forcing perfumers into the same set of aromachemicals, I don't blame Versace for leaning this way in their marketing.
For the scent itself, I'll be curious to see whether I encounter more of that pear opening among the designer feminines and resulting dupes over the next few years. I enjoyed draining this sample and am on the lookout for a good deal on a full bottle.
