Latest Reviews of Versus (new)
This tries to be too many things at the same time and ends up being nothing at all.
First citrus, then a floral fruity sweetness, then a bitter oud note, finally the ambrette, which is a like it or hate it note. For me this final note, which can become cloyingly nauseous in warm weather, seals the negative summing up.
If you loved Creed's now (happily) discontinued Ambre Canelle, you might just like this ambrette flanker. Where the Creed was a bomb, this Versus balances the Vice in that monster.
Either way, this is nothing to go out of your way for.

Casual. Pleasant. Unobtrusive. A few interesting ingredients / notes, here.

Got all the fruit with the first sniff, then it went to patchouli with a sweet edge. I agree with Hojji77-it smells like shampoo. While not nasty, I'll definitely pass on this one.
Cheap Shot Versace's marketing hype of the period notwithstanding, there is no "dark side" to this. You will smell like a Creamsicle. That is not necessarily a bad thing: Orange, vanilla, and...well, not much else. Orange and vanilla. Later in the drydown a slight woody note emerges which renders the overall effect almost indistinguishable from Suave Citrus Squirt children's shampoo. Thus you will smell like a clean six-year-old. Astonishingly cheap, in both senses of the word, although there's nothing actively unpleasant about it.
Fruity sweet but not too girly and not too screeching loud in the club scent sense. Projects well and lasts really long on me. The kumquat and star apple make this a bright day scent -- the initial way it smells holds off really well -- some might think it may be too linear -- rounds off softly way till the day ends. If I didnt have a strict rotation I'd be reaching for this much more than I do now. Two thumbs way up!
