First impressions: Very hippie, putting me in mind of a new age store. There are light flowers and an odd vegetable scent. I have to hunt hard for the spice.

After drying down: This fades into something more foody and honey scented, though not as strong as Snake Oil. It's a pleasant scent, but since I already have a full bottle of Snake Oil I doubt I'd buy a full bottle of Vixen.

Vixen” sounds like it should be sensual, alluring, but charming and coy at the same time, and I would say that that's a pretty good description of the fragrance. I'm not sure what category Vixen would fit into, but it has florals, spices, light wood (patchouli), resinousness, and vanilla. In the opening I get a very nice orange blossom note coupled with patchouli and ginger. The ginger and patchouli combination is pretty well represented well into the base, and the patchouli is the main actor in the fragrance as far as I'm concerned. I'm surprised that the ginger doesn't bother me as it usually does. I find it tolerable. Vixen is a bit exotic… especially with its light incense and powder background, and, of course, there is an underlying sweetness that continues all the way through the fragrance. The notes and accords are well blended and balanced, and has good longevity. It's a beguiling feminine fragrance but it takes a special type of person to wear it.
