Avon (2010)

One of my alltime favorite Avon fragrances. Yes, it's a nice soft summer-daytime fragrance, but don't let that fool you: It pulls off some very sophisticated structural stuff that delights me.

I love scents that have strong contrast between top and bottom notes. That's here...and what it seems to me the juice-builder has done, instead of wedging something mindless between the base, which is fairly rich for this kind of scent, and the clean and light but rather complex top, is to leave it mostly open, somehow creating light and space at the heart. The diagram above says "flowers", but that isn't what I smell, unless there's a flower that smells like clean, cool summer air.

So....well...the top floats about a foot above the bottom. It's remarkable, and I like it a whole bunch.
