Inter Parfums have signed a new licensing agreement with jewellery company, Van Cleef & Arpels. The license is to be renewed for an additional 9-year term as from January 1, 2025.
The news was revealed in Inter Parfums France’s Q2 2024 report, where they say they on strengthening the selective distribution of Van Cleef & Arpels fragrances worldwide. New fragrances are also planned in the Collection Extraordinaire and a new collection are in the pipeline.
Also announced in the report:
- Two major new Coach fragrance releases are scheduled for 2025
- Lanvin fragrances were adversely impacted by the voluntary limitation of shipments to certain Eastern European countries and the absence of any major launches during the period
- Since taking over operations on January 1, Lacoste fragrances have already exceeded forecasts with nearly €37m in sales
- Rochas fragrances continued to grow on the strength of the iconic Eau de Rochas line, the two new flankers, Citron Soleil and Orange Horizon, and the launch of the Mademoiselle Rochas in Paris line
Philippe Benacin, Chairman and CEO commented: “We are largely on track to meeting our full-year targets after a good performance in the first half despite a complicated situation in the beauty market in selected countries. The takeover of Lacoste fragrance distribution exceeds our expectations and the initial responses to the launch of the Lacoste Original line are extremely positive.”
Philippe Santi, Executive Vice President and CFO, added: “Sales volumes in the first half of 2024 were not adversely affected by the moderate increases in sales prices applied in early 2022 and 2023 respectively. In contrast and above all they made it possible to maintain gross margins at a high level. Reflecting continuing efforts to contain fixed costs and achieve a more balanced distribution of marketing and advertising expenditures between the first and second half, operating income for H1 2024 is expected to experience only a limited decline compared with the exceptionally high level of H1 2023, in line with the budget.”
The US division of Inter Parfums have also recently announced their Q2 report, and Jean Madar, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, had this to add,
“On our two largest brands, GUESS and Donna Karan/DKNY, sales were up 8% and 14%, respectively, in the first half of 2024. Line extensions are coming later this year and a surge in brand sales in the second half is expected. Among the new products coming to market are GUESS Elements, the third extension in the Uomo line, Uomo Intenso, and a DKNY blockbuster named DKNY 24/7, currently launching in select European markets, Travel retail and DKNY.com. Full distribution is scheduled to begin in September of this year. Ferragamo sales were largely flat in the second quarter as we enriched the Signorina line with Signorina Unica. Finally, MCM grew high double-digit behind the successful debut of MCM
Crush.”
“Our newest brands, Lacoste and Roberto Cavalli, have performed on par with our expectations, contributing 9% to our sales growth in the current second quarter. For the Roberto Cavalli fragrance family, we will debut a new Just Cavalli brand extension, plus Sweet Ferocious, and the Wild Heart duo for men and women in the second half of 2024. In 2025, a new extension of the legacy Lacoste scent will be launched followed by a new blockbuster women’s fragrance in 2026.”
